Dude, that song by Annie Lennox and the credits are like some of the best parts but I also love the whole war against the dude's riding elephants and the ghost guys riding out to help save the day! The whole flick was most EXCELLENTLY done!

You can't beat the RotK EE (in fact, the theatrical release positively pales in contrast!) It's worth watching just for Bruce Spence's hilarious performance as the Mouth Of Sauron!

It sure was. ;D The Mouth of Sauron is one of my fave characters from the books, and I'm also a huge Bruce Spence fan - so I was really glad when I found out who'd been cast in the role. I just laugh my head off every time I watch that Black Gate scene. Though why they had to have Aragorn kill him I'll never know... the big bully...

I totally agree that Viggo did a great job portraying Aragorn... but the beheading thing was just terrible. That was NOT in accordance with Tolkiens Aragorn in any way, shape or form. It was totally out of character and an utterly pointless gesture. Aragorn was meant to be kingly, noble and gracious - but he ended up looking like a yobbo who couldn't control his emotions in that scene. Attacking an unarmed herald? Hmmm... certainly not the sort of man I'd want as my king! Booooo! Hisssss! I have no idea why PJ did that.
The paths of the dead scene was very amusing though. I just loved Gimli's face as he was crunching over those skulls on the floor. Classic! ;D

The Scowering of the shire would have been neat to see, i wish they would have done that in them movie, instead of having Sauramon falling off of Isengard. and what is the deal with the scene with frodo telling Sam to go home that he wasnt wanted there anymore that wasnt even in the book (even though i really like that scene, and Sean Astin's performance), and one thing i really wanna know is where did this scene go......they have it in the trailor, why wasnt in the movie, or the EE... (i also dont hear merry ever telling pippin that they will see the shire again, and pippin is crying)

Well, I think that the Merry/Pippin scene was in the EE. Don't quote me though. I can't remember about the Frodo/Sam one, but I thought that everything in the trailors was included. Having said that though, I haven't watched any of the trailors for a couple of years, so maybe I'm thinking of totally different scenes to you.

Rotk Rocked! I persoanlly loved how they used Legolas's grace but mixed in with his skills. There was a lot more action which was another thing that caught my eye. But the story in the begging. When they show gollums story was like the topper. I just loved it!

i have to say that i really like that scene too, it give you more background og Gollum than, we new, and it shows how obbsessed with the ring he really was.

I thought that Gandalf should have faced the Witch-King instead of being blown down to the ground. He is one of the Maiar after all isn't he? If he could smite the Balrog, then why not the Nazgul.

Thank God I got the extended edition! It is worth its weight in Gold. Where else would you get to see the Witch King of Agmar take on Gandalf (its not according to the book, but hey ). Speaking of the encounter between the Witch King and Gandalf, I though Gandalf the White would kick his ass if it came to that. Remember that Gandalf the Grey (weaker) slew the Balrog, a maiar. Surely the Balrog is more powerful than a wraith? Sauron himself is a Maiar...so.... A small inconsistency I'm having trouble with.

I watched Rotk EE with the commentary on a few times..the one with Pete and Fran and Philippa and those people and they commented how the meeting of Gandlf and the Witchking was a bit pointless. And maybe the scene where Saruman falls down off the Orthanc is there to get rid of him. People may have thought adddng the Scouring of the Shire may have taken too long. I never liked it in the book really..though...plese dont kill me
