Should Peter Jackson think about making this into a movie, me myself i think it would be a wise decision, but do you guys think, what is your take on this subject?

I've never really liked the Hobbit as much I like Tolkiens other works, but I'd still really love to see Peter Jackson's take on it. Judging by the success of the main LotR trillogy, I think it would be a very enjoyable film.
Also, the way I look at it, it's far better that Peter Jackson makes it (who we know will do a good job), rather than risking some other director (who may not) getting the rights to do it at a later date. Better the devil you know, as they say!

last thing I had heard a while back was that Peter had gotten the rights to make the movie, but he said he couldn't do it until King Kong was all said and done. That very well could be his next project but I don't know that for sure. Let's hope he is still thinking about creating it.

yeah no kidding... because PJ has his own unique style of doing things as does every director... so if you change who does lotr now its gonna be ruined. kinda like the harry potter movies where i have been told like one is a lot better than another because they had switched directors or something.... i dont know that for a fact because i hate harry potter but thats kinda what ive heard

now he is making the lovely bones into a movie. he is also producing the halo movie. people who worked on the filmes with him say that he is going to make the hobbit in a few years. i think it is new line and fox or some other compony that is fighting over the movie rights. i hope the other company gets it because peter jackson was suing new line for not paying him the agreed amount.

i don't care who helps do the Hobbit, just as long as PJ directs it and it's able to stay along the same lines as looking like his LotR movies. Because otherwise it's gonna be like old star wars to new star wars..... way off.

Yes, I agree that PJ needs to do it or it won't be the same. Can't have Rivendell and The Shire looking completely different than they did in LotR. Also need to have Ian McKellen, Ian Holm and Hugo Weaving return. I can't imagine having a different Gandalf, Bilbo and Elrond.

Yeah that would just be screwed up to having a different Gandalf, Bilbo, and Elrond... it better be the same casting or grrrr!!!! It would just like kill half the movie.
